Hilton begins the next chapter with Paul Hutton

Paul Hutton began the role of Regional Vice President and Head of Australasia at Hilton Asia Pacific, after four years leading Hilton’s Southeast Asia business from Singapore.

Hutton led the Australasia business from 2015-2017 and is grateful to return to the top job with new knowledge and experience under his belt.

“Australia is my home, and I am delighted to return to my family in Sydney and lead Hilton’s Australasia business,” said Hutton.

“My time in South East Asia has been a period of substantial growth for Hilton, and the lessons and experience I bring from my time there will benefit our important plans for Australasia this year.”

Sydney-based Hutton will spearhead Hilton’s turnaround, which includes plans to double the company’s presence in Australasia over the next five years. He will oversee 28 hotels in operation, with 12 hotels and resorts in the pipeline, and will be a key member of the company’s Asia-Pacific leadership team.

“At Hilton, we believe the desire to travel, experience new cultures and connect with others is at the heart of the human experience and reopening Australia’s international border for tourists will be a key focus for Hilton in the coming months,” he said.

“I look forward to working closely with our incredible team members and owners as we continue our journey of recovery to usher in an exciting new era of travel for our customers.”

Hilton Asia Pacific President Alan Watts said he was confident Hutton would continue to propel the company to new heights.

“Paul is a Hilton veteran with deep brand and country knowledge that continues to prove he is the cornerstone of our leadership team,” he said.

“He has been instrumental in overseeing our success in Southeast Asia over the past four years, which included milestones such as the launch of the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand in the region with the opening of exceptional properties in the Maldives and Bangkok.”
