Accor launches a “Same Day Hire” program to strengthen its workforce
A new initiative where suitable workers can apply for frontline service delivery roles and potentially start working the same day has been introduced by Accor as part of a new initiative to strengthen its workforce to meet demand reborn.
The company has launched a new “Work Your Way” program in response to internal forecasts that it will need to hire up to 1,200 new employees, or 15% of its current workforce, to adequately meet demand over the months. to come, both nationally and internationally. tourism is coming back to life. Under the Same Day Recruitment program, candidates can show up at a hotel to advertise a position and, if applicable, be hired and start the same day through an expedited recruitment process.
Accor has also strengthened its employee benefits to now offer personalized benefits, with hotels able to incentivize their team members with greater list flexibility, travel benefits, birthday and sabbaticals. for staff to take an agreed upon length of time to pursue a personal project.
Staff will have more opportunities to work in similar roles at other Accor properties around the world. Career development has also been improved, with the Accor Academy providing easier access for employees to acquire new qualifications and skills or strengthen their management credentials with leadership training.
The revised human resources structure follows the introduction earlier this year of the Accor internship program, which provides paid on-the-job training to 100 hospitality students from 22 educational institutions in Australia and New Zealand. .
